“We live in an incredible community with truly wonderful schools. As a mom, education advocate, and non-profit leader, I want to use my experience to support our students, teachers, and parents to ensure that our children receive the best education. It would be my honor to serve our students.”

ENSURING GREAT SCHOOLS

The San Dieguito Union High School District is widely considered to be the best school district in San Diego County. As our School Board Member, Julie will work to ensure our schools remain great by continuing to invest in technology and employing best practices to guide curriculum.

INCREASING PARENT INVOLVEMENT

Studies have consistently shown that engaged parents lead to better academic outcomes for their kids. On the School Board, Julie will listen and be responsive to parents, and she will find new ways to increase parent involvement in our schools and the School Board’s decision making.

IMPROVING COUNSELING SERVICES

As a parent, Julie understands that high-quality college counseling can make a critical difference for our students. That’s why she will work with school leaders to improve counseling services and help ensure the best outcomes for our students.

GETTING THE MOST FROM OUR TAX DOLLARS

The San Dieguito Union High School District has an annual general fund budget of around $150 million. As our School Boardmember, Julie will be a watchdog over our budget and ensure that as many dollars as possible are being invested in classroom instruction, and not bureaucracy.

EXPANDING EXTRA-CURRICULAR ACTIVITIES

Julie knows that a great high school experience is about more than just good grades and high test scores. On the School Board, she’ll work to enhance programs such as student government and clubs, and begin new partnerships aimed at expanding extracurricular opportunities for our students.

PROMOTING EQUITY & INCLUSION ON CAMPUS

Julie believes that every child should feel welcome and protected in school, and that our schools should celebrate diversity. Learning about cultural, ethnic and religious diversity helps prepare students for the world and build stronger bonds between students on campus.
